Alicia Edwards has lived in the Northern Virginia/DC Metro area for over 25 years. Starting her career as a dog trainer with a non-profit organization in 2009, Alicia discovered the many ways that a dog can change someone’s life, and her own. After being a part of over 30 service dogs passing through the program and logging over 8000 hours with the Department of Labor as an Animal Trainer over a 5 year stretch, she decided this was her passion she wanted to continue with as a career.
After ending her last year as the Lead Trainer for the non-profit organization in 2014, Alicia turned to becoming a mentor for one of the largest pet stores in the country. Alicia was recognized by the CEO of the company for the highest percentage in AKC Canine Good Citizen dogs produced in 2015-16. She continued to aid the community by starting her own small business, teaching various dog training skills.
Alicia is super excited to be a part of the PAWS Training Centers team, able to once again dedicate herself to service work and the impact a dog can have on lives.
